Junior account executive
First up, let me say an epic HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! Lets just hope through mint music, good banter and plenty of hard work, 2012 will be equally as successful as last year.
So… yes, we’re after fresh digi-talent… a Junior account executive to be precise. So, what does that mean exactly? Well, first up it means you’re starting where all of us at RD started… deep, deep down at the bottom of the food chain. Your passion for music and online marketing must be far greater than any desire to rock a power suit to work and drink over priced fizz on a Thursday night. That’s not how we roll.
Secondly, please do not look at our roster of clients and think that just because you did a season in Ibiza or happen to absolutely adore Calvin Harris, this is meant for you.
What are we looking for? Really, we want a bit of everything that crosses from public relations through to full on digital marketing, swerving via music production… Is that possible? Read below, and see what you think…
Applicants will;
- be available to start work in February.
- be based in Leeds and happy to commute to Duke Studios.
- understand our services and of course our mission.
- be social, on and offline.
- have awesome communications skills; through face to face, via email, phone and social media.
- be passionate about social media in a way your friends may never quite understand.
- understand the back-end areas of all key social networks relevant to music industry including; facebook, twitter, YouTube, Spotify, Soundcloud, iTunes Ping…. and sometimes… MySpace.
- be more than capable of writing anything from a press statement to a strategic social media planning document.
- have a knowledge and interest of Adobe PhotoShop.
- have some understanding of web applications, html and CSS.
- enjoy basic video editing.
- be able to make superb brews.
- have super human attention to detail.
- understand and enjoy electronic dance music and all it’s sub-genres.
- be able to delegate back up to their managers.
- be bright enough as to know when to craic on, and when to ask for support. Micro-management doesn’t sit well within our ethos.
- work random hours inline with your clients’ territory.
- be willing to learn so many different day to day skills and software packages, in the beginning, it may well freak you out.
- be prepared to attend multiple events and festivals through the UK and further afield.
- understand and respect our ethical and transparent approach to word of mouth marketing.
Finally, you must love your music.
You may not have all of the above points under your belt, but you get the gist as to what we’re looking for. Perhaps the most important point out of the lot is to ‘be willing to learn’.
How to apply:
Simples. Send an intro email to vicky@risingdigital.co.uk explaining a little about yourself and highlighting anything you think may be of interest. We will of course be doing the obligatory google search on applicants, so if you want to make this a bit easier for us feel free.
Cheeky tip: I did a little interview with Ben Cotton over at Edelman last year, you might find it useful.
If you’ve got to this point, thanks for taking the time and we hope to hear from you soon.
